PFD & Newark Fire join in paying honor to BCFD LODD Lt. Dillon Rinaldo [Gallery]

Dillon J Rinaldo was born in Ridgewood, NJ; he wanted to be just like his father, a firefighter. He did just that in 2017, joining the Baltimore City Fire Department, a natural next step after volunteering with the Fair Lawn Company Four Engine in NJ.

On October 24th, 2023, the news broke that Lt. Dillon J Rinaldo's bravest fight had ended. Lt. Rinaldo had suffered severe burns while performing his duties as a firefighter at Box Alarm 46-40, a 2nd Alarm fire on the 5200 block of Linden Heights Ave; the same fire that recently buried FF Rodney Pitts had also paid the ultimate sacrifice in the name of their city.

Dillion is survived by his parents and sister, as well as his fiancé, who shared her life with him for over five years; he was posthumously promoted to the rank of Captain.

Multiple members of Paterson Fire were classmates & friends with Lt. Rinaldo. Close to a dozen members made the trip to Maryland to once again stand with respect and honor alongside the members of BCFD and the many other contingencies from Fire Departments across the continent. Once again, some members joined members of the Newark Firefighters Union to share the trek south.

A GoFundMe to support the fiance of Lt. Rinaldo is available at: https://gofund.me/6bfcdda9.

The Paterson Firefighters Association, as always, thanks the Newark Firefighters Union for their brotherhood, assistance, and camaraderie.
